Hey Spring Breakers!
My, is it quiet around here. Except for my very sweary neighbor – do you have one of those? I didn’t know we had one until just now, while jaunting down to the mailbox with my nephew’s hand-made* birthday card – on time and everything! (I mean, it’ll probably still be late since it has to travel over 3,000 miles, but it won’t be late-late like usual.)
*my kid made the card. My contribution was a crisp fifty.
Anyway, sweary neighbors. I guess it’s kind of like, I don’t know… charming? We’ve got the neighbor who keeps and eye on things and probably phones in complaints to the police once in a while. The family always loading up their truck for some weekend adventure. The neighbors who leave “free stuff” on the curb (no judgment, just observing). The two-up e-bikers zooming by (I think they live around here??), the surfer/biker/runner neighbor who’s always nice to chat it up with. And, of course, the neighbor who fires up the grill all summer long, sending billows of smoke into every nearby yard. (That would be us.)
