Off-leash paradise at Dillon Beach

You know how the Germans have schadenfreude, but we don’t have that word and yet it makes total (though kind of evil) sense?

Well, we need a new word for “how did I not know about this beach this WHOLE TIME???” –– a word that captures the awe/disbelief/retro-fomo when you’re standing at said beach.

In this case, it was Dillon Beach just last weekend. A beach at which my darling friend’s tween daughter fell madly and vocally in love with a fluffy Australian Shepherd puppy, threatening to purchase the dog several times.

It tops our 5 fun things, because… lucky you! It’s another unseasonally warm weekend ahead.☀️☀️☀️

Why not? Splurge for an overnight stay. These little cottages are ADORABLE. And there’s a general store (w/plenty of wine, beer and… soft serve!) plus a restaurant open Fri-Sun that serves fried oyster po’boys, blackened ocean trout, and a skillet cookie!! (That’s not just one cookie, but TWO, with a giant dollop of ice cream in between - see for yourself.) Killer views on the house.

I just spent 20 minutes on their Instagram and now I want to: 1. buy a membership, 2. collect all their swag, and 3. ask the owners for their autographs without making it weird.
